Pico's School DX

Pico's School DX is a remake of the original, staying true to the originals look 'n feel.

While I was going to create an original Pico game at first I thought it would be a good idea to first remake the original to get a good grip on the style and gameplay mechanics. So if people like this, there's more to come.

The game will feature new and old medals (even a medal that will be unlocked after you unlocked a medal in a different game on Newgrounds, is that a first? Guess it is) and all the secrets of the original will be included plus some new ones.

It'll be released on Pico Day (April 27th)

Also, become a fan of me. It'll be fun!

Hah, well I did try to update the graphics though but I didn't really change the style of the characters like in other remakes and/or sequels.

Will you add some new music to the game? I mean, the original music was great back then, but now it would be great to have some diversity, for example different music for different bosses.

Yeah, there's a chance. The music of the original is being re-arranged by ZStriefel who's doing an amazing job. I'm not sure if there will be any new music though, we'll see.

Basically I'm going to load the source of the original game into the new game and then check the HTML to see if the medal is unlocked or not. It's very hacky and I'm not sure if it'll work but if it does I'll write some instructions on it later on.

Good luck, that would be a useful feature. Great way to link sequels to previous games, and remakes to originals, etc. Btw, maybe you've experimented with this already: would it be possible to check for medals on multiple games in one flash directly via the API if you know the encryption/ID for those games?
